Entertainment Weekly Recommends Us!

Posted on June 11, 2015 in Press, Reviews, Top Lists

We have been recommended by Entertainment Weekly as a One Day Time Suck!  (which is a good thing!)

The melding of the medium and base material is clever (using Tinkerbell’s POV is particularly fun); the writing is smart; and the cast is beyond endearing (Brennan Murray’s Michael Darling is a can’t-miss).

Review from Sound On Sight

Posted on July 2, 2014 in Press, Reviews

Claire Hellar is at it again!  She recently reviewed us for her blog Coffee and Irony.  Now she’s included us in a blog post where she is Reviewing 5 Popular Web Series Based on Books.

Here are some highlights, but definitely check out her four other reviews in the same article.

“The cast is uniformly excellent particularly at comedy”

“Quirky, witty, and sometimes surprising”

“The set design is particularly gorgeous”

“(Paula Rhodes) brings a grounded, charming warmth to Wendy that anchors the series”

Review from Nerdy But Flirty

Posted on July 1, 2014 in Press, Reviews

We like being both nerdy AND flirty… so we were thrilled when Megan Highwind reviewed “The New Adventures of Peter and Wendy” in Nerdy-But-Flirty.

“The series is a cute, fun, take on the classic story and does a good job of representing the original characters while bringing new life and modernity to them. The best thing about this series is how lighthearted it is.”

Check out her full review here in New Adventures of Peter and Wendy Review!

Review from Three Basic Bees

Posted on June 26, 2014 in Press, Reviews

We are proud to be the first blogged recommendation from the “notoriously addicted to YouTube” Kelly, over at Three Basic Bees.

You can check out the full review here at her article: You Should Watch: The New Adventures of Peter and Wendy

And here are a few fun snippets:

“I fell in love with this particular adaption because the show gets to explore very prominent issues in our world while incorporating familiar, lovable characters.”

” If you look at the comment sections in The New Adventures of Peter and Wendy, it is easy to see that people are connecting with these characters on a much deeper level. Peter Pan and the Darlings are not fantasy figures anymore; they are people in their twenties struggling with life plans, rejection, love and aging.”

Shout Out from Coffee and Irony

Posted on June 9, 2014 in Press, Reviews

Claire Hellar gives us an awesome shout out in her recent post “The New Adventures of Peter and Wendy” on her blog Coffee and Irony.

Some highlights include:

“If you are a cynical human being, head for the door, because the adorbs is strong with this one.”

“…the one-liners and terms coined are GEMS (“hipster spinster”). Watch it. Fall in love.”

Review from Fandomania

Posted on May 30, 2014 in Press, Reviews, Top Lists

Mandi Harris over at fandomania talks about how so many great web series nowadays are pulling their inspiration from some truly classic novels.  She included “The New Adventures of Peter and Wendy” in her write-up in “YouTube’s Classics Explosion.”

Thanks for watching Mandy, and we’re glad you enjoy the show.

Here are some of the things she said about our show:

“I really couldn’t stop watching it when I started”

“It’s a really funny mix. I’ve had plenty of laughs watching it so far.”

Review from Webvee

Posted on May 29, 2014 in Press, Reviews

Eli David has written a wonderful review of our show!  Peter Pan is one of his favorite stories… “Ergo, any content using it as source material will be held to a near-impossible standard.”  Spoiler alert: he loves everything about our adaptation.

Read the full review to find out why!

I love everything about this adaptation. Its analogous characters, imagery, and story are perfect updates of their originals.

From the sets to the sound and camera cues to the theme, everything about The New Adventures of Peter and Wendy is as ideal as one could wish.

Review from Snobby Robot

Posted on May 28, 2014 in Press, Reviews

Looks like we’re good enough for the snobbiest of robots!  Chris Hadley over at Snobby Robot has written a beautifully positive and eloquent review of our show in his article: THE NEW ADVENTURES OF PETER AND WENDY: You Never Grow Up When You’re Making Movies.

Here’s a tiny snippet of what he had to say:

“an incredibly unique modern take on the literary classic.”

Review from Pop Culture Monster

Posted on May 25, 2014 in Press, Reviews

“The series brings some real relatability to the characters. It’s got enough magical realism to choke a crocodile. It’s my new happy thought.”
– Ciaran Reinhardt, Pop Culture Monster

Pop Culture Monster has written a pretty great review of our show!

“Let’s face it, in the books, Wendy isn’t the most likeable character, she is adventurous but always sensible and Paula gets that mix just right, all the while bringing bags of likeability and pluck. Kyle Walters is the perfect 21st Century man-child as obsessive, videogame loving, semi-stoner, Peter.”
